Damaged soul

Walk with my demons hidden under the sleeve.
Temporarily reigned in, a short term reprieve.
Watch out for the whispers, the voices can deceive.

Medicated to supplication,
sifting through the mire.
The dog days of subjugation;
thought demons conspire.

Exhausted by the battle
to simply raise a head.
The parapet has crumbled.
Enlightenment is dead.

Crawl across the corpses,
I’ve died a thousand lives.
Searching for release
in relationship and lies .

Trying to find a saviour,
a knight in metal bright.
To slay the curse within;
I must be the light.
